Vaccination
The Ministry of Health in Brazil recommends the Yellow Fever Vaccination to all international travellers at least 10 days prior to their entry into Brazil, especially if travelling to the following areas:
- Acre, Amapá, Amazonas, Pará, Rondônia, Roraima, Tocantins;
- Distrito Federal (Brasília), Goiás, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul;
- Maranhão, Minas Gerais, Southeast of Piauí, West and South of Bahia, North of Espírito Santo, West of São Paulo and West of Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul.
According to the RDC Nr. 21 from the 21st March 2008, the Yellow Fever Vaccination is only obligatory if a traveller has visited a country that presents a risk of international dissemination of Yellow Fever, before entering Brazil.
Note: According to the Brazilian Ministry of Health, currently there are no countries that pose an international risk.
