Authenticated Copies of Documents

The Embassy of Brazil may authenticate copies of original documents issued by either the Brazilian or New Zealand authorities.

The original document must be presented together with the photocopy of the document to be authenticated, and a self-addressed, pre-paid envelope if you wish to receive the copies back through the post. The Embassy recommends using courier services that provide a tracking number – do not forget to keep this number until the documents have been received.

To see the fee for the authentication of copies, please see the Table of Consular Fees.

N.B. Because the fee is charged per page, it may be of interest to photocopy multiple documents onto the front and back of the same piece of paper.

If you require an authenticated copy of a document that has not been issued by a relevant authority, it will be necessary to have the copy authenticated by either the Department of Internal Affairs (www.dia.govt.nz) or a local Notary Public. The Embassy may then authenticate the signature of this authority. For information regarding this process, please see Legalisation of Original Documents.
